Night Manager – Data Centre – Canary Wharf We are currently partnering with a multinational Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation services provider with offices across Europe. Due to continued growth in their industrial arm, they are now seeking an experienced Night Manager to join their team in London on a Data Centre project. Responsibilities • Night-Shift Oversight Requirements Must hold both SMSTS and First Aid certifications Benefits £320 - £350 per day
Lead the management of all construction activities taking place during night hours, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project schedule for a high-spec Data Centre build. Maintain a strong on-site presence to support teams and enforce best practice.
• Health, Safety & Compliance Management
Champion site safety throughout the night shift, carrying out routine inspections, enforcing RAMS and permit-to-work procedures, and ensuring strict adherence to all H&S regulations. SMSTS and First Aid certification are essential to support safe working environments and respond effectively to any incidents.
• Subcontractor & Workforce Coordination
Oversee subcontractor teams and labour on site during night operations, ensuring clear task allocation, resolving technical or logistical issues, and maintaining seamless communication with the day-shift management team to avoid disruption to workflow.
• Progress Tracking, Reporting & Quality Assurance
Monitor nightly progress against programme milestones, verify the quality of completed works, and identify any issues that may impact upcoming phases. Produce accurate nightly reports, handover notes, and updates to ensure smooth continuity between shifts.
• Incident Management & Problem Resolution
Act as the first point of contact for any unplanned events, emergencies, or technical challenges that arise overnight. Coordinate immediate responses, deliver first-aid support when required, and implement corrective actions to maintain safety, security, and operational continuity.
Must have 4+ years previous experience in a similar role on large-scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres)
Must be based within commutable distance of Canary Wharf
